ARD Program

Law Offices of James Crosby Dec. 2, 2020

All types of drunk driving charges should be considered serious. If you are charged with a related offense in Pennsylvania, you need to have someone who is working to protect your rights. This person is not going to be a member of law enforcement. In fact, police and the prosecution will do everything possible to make sure that you receive the maximum punishment for the charges you face. That is their job.

Your defense attorney, however, is the one who will stick by you. Skilled DUI defense attorney Jim Crosby has years of experience handling DUI defense, traffic violations and driver’s license restoration issues throughout Pennsylvania. Whether you have prior convictions or this is your first offense, Mr. Crosby will take whatever actions are necessary to make sure that your rights are protected.

Learn more about the ARD program and find out if you are eligible by calling the Law Offices of James Crosby. We offer free initial consultations.

What Is The ARD Program?

The Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program is for some first-time offenders who committed nonviolent crimes. No one is entitled to ARD. The District Attorney’s Office controls who gets into the program and who doesn’t. If there was a child in the car, you may be excluded. If there was an accident resulting in property damage or injuries, you may be excluded. If you have a prior conviction, you may be excluded. In many instances, our clients come to us after they have been denied ARD. We prefer to get involved early but have helped many clients gain admission even after they have been turned down prior to seeking our assistance.

Benefits Of ARD

One can benefit from ARD by earning a dismissal of the charges, resulting in expungement of their criminal arrest record. Additionally, the mandatory jail time is waived. Acceptance of ARD also results in a much shorter license suspension. In some cases, no suspension is given.

Am I Eligible?

While some people are familiar with this program, many people will not know if they qualify unless they speak with a knowledgeable attorney. We have found success with this program for first-time DUI offenders. Our attorneys are prepared to thoroughly explain the details of the program and what the overwhelming benefits consist of.
